The drawing and painting practice of Ebecho Muslimova manifests a graphic trajectory of the personal and exposed, the comedic and the disquieting. Centered around the artist’s alter ego, Fatebe, a bold and sexually liberated character. The works depict a persona shameless and free, exploring the world in ridiculous and impossible situations that revel in the celebration of carnal processes and bodily curiosity.
Her recent solo shows include 'FOG' at Magenta Plains, New York (2023), 'Fatebe digest' at David Zwirner, London (2021), 'Scenes in the Sublevel' at The Drawing Center, New York (2021) and 'FATEBE: Ebecho Muslimova' at Bernheim, Zurich (2020).
Her works have been included as permanent collections in, among others: Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Hirshhorn Museum, Washington D.C. and ICA Miami, Miami.
